Women’s Menstrual Research

Tanzania Women’s Menstrual Internship Research Program

Sojourn Project II’s Health Awareness Initiative addresses critical health disparities and promotes equity in underserved communities. As part of this effort, senior Public Health Education majors from UNCG are conducting groundbreaking research on menstrual cycle discrimination and deprivation in Kenya. Their work focuses on understanding the social, cultural, and economic barriers that contribute to menstrual inequity, aiming to develop sustainable solutions that empower women and girls. By spotlighting the systemic challenges faced by individuals in accessing menstrual health resources, this initiative seeks to dismantle stigma, advocate for policy changes, and foster global awareness about the intersection of health and human rights.
