Under the leadership of Dr. Hasan and Kimberly Crockett, 50 Saint Augustine’s University students mobilized to send over 3,000 text messages to severely undercounted communities across North Carolina during the 2020 Census. Their initiative significantly enhanced awareness and participation in the census, ensuring these communities were accurately represented and empowered for future resource allocation and political representation.
